History
The Hemsley Restaurant is a private house built in 1904 for William Sydney Hemsley, Managing Director of Hemsley & Co. Subsequently the house was owned from 1926 by Captain John Eric Greenwood, JP, Finance Director of Boots. The house was later opened as a club in 1954 by the University and in May 2006 after an extensive refurbishment The Hemsley Restaurant opened its doors to the public.
The Hemsley has steadily grown a reputation of imaginative and delectable food combined with attentive service.
